    Hi all,

I'm after some shopping tips for a new laptop, actually I'm after bits for a laptop...

(There is a sorry saga behind this request; to cut a long story short I can't get the laptop I wanted (a Zepto) and I can't find another that I like and is cheap enough.)

I have seen on a couple of US websites that you can buy a laptop barebones system. That would leave me with just having to buy a HDD, RAM and processor (assuming the chassis comes with an optical drive).

So my question is, can anyone recomment or suggest places where I can get the chassis and components in the UK? I can then compare the quality and price of such a system in relation to buying the whole thing from a dealer.

Google isn't being very helpful and I don't seem to be able to find anything on these forums either.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Tom
