    Hi,

ust building first notebook and have a problem.

It is a Quanta TW3A barebone. I have checked the spec and got tested T2400, 2 x 512GB mem and 80GB SATA drive. Put it all together, turned it on and although the fan comes on, the lights come on and the cd whirrs a couple of times with XP cd in it, nothing happens.

I just have a whirring notebook with blue idiot lights and blank screen.

    What have i done wrong?

well I am going to go to my desktop diag skills, if you remove the ram do you get any kind of beep code? Also make sure the screw that holds the CPU in place is turned all the way, double check that the CPU is seated well and make sure the RAM is seated well. About all I can think of atm.

hi sorry, yes it has the nvidia 128Mb chipset.

Well, i took it apart and tried again, and (WIERDLY) it worked first time!

Excpet I can't get the audo to work. its some wierd conextant audio and XP can't recognise it. Someone said somewhere on the tinternet that I have to download XP SP2 before it works. Sound right?
