You know those types of extension socket with bulb installed on the switches (fig. below), i find my lappy whines when using with it. And stops when using from wall outlet. I tried another 4 in one extension socket but removed the bulbs and laptop doesn't whine. So my question basically asking if those bulbs are really taking up some amp/current that maybe mean important to the laptop or to the power adapter?

Is just my find. Thanks for the inputs.

If your laptop is working fine it is working fine. The noise isn't going to hurt anything. The power components are always going to make noise, just most of the time it is outside of your ability to hear. Have you ever heard a large power transformer humming? It's the same sort of thing.

I don't know the terms of electricity but to talk about power transformer it must be on a stress load to make that humming noise. Same goes to the whines i heard of the laptop.

I personally like to have the bulbs taken off to stop hardware whine, but I don't know the bulb's purpose, maybe to indicate power on/off or to prevent slight voltage surge which i think the bulbs may can absorb extra voltage and fry itself much like fuse but weaker version. Well it worries me abit because one of my Compaq V6000 laptop died after the whine got quite loud for a while.

From the power adapter mostly, sometimes the laptop whine can be heard too but not oftern. But it whines loudly when i use the Logitech wifi mouse dongle on the USB port. I have to switch the dongle to USB3.0 port which the RENESAS chip connect via integrated PCI Express port to stop the loud whine. Strange.
