I have a Toshiba (specs in sig). I feel like the thing has been loaded up with a bunch of crap from Toshiba. I'm not quite sure where or what it is, but I'm sure most of you know what I mean.
I think there are alot of unneeded services/startup programs running and just overall junk taking up space and resources.
Does anyone know how I could take care of this?
I was thinking about reformatting my HD. But If I do this, and use the disk that came with the computer for the operating system (i think they call it the "recovery disk"), will all of the toshiba and other crap come back on the computer anyway?
Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks

Do you have an OS installation disk as well as the Recovery Disk?

Ok, I have two disks:
1.
One is silver, looks unprofessional, labeled: TOSHIBA: Recovery and Applications/Drivers, Satellite A130/A135 Series, Windows Vista Home Premium.
It also says on the disk "The software included on this Recovery disc was pre installed on your hard drive at the factory and may only be used for backup and recovery of your Toshiba Computer system. Performance of the software is the sole responsibility of Toshiba"
2.
The other disc is in a nice looking Microsoft Windows Vista Case. The case is titled "Upgrade your Windows Vista Experience: Windows Anytime Upgrade"
Inside the case, on the actual disk it says "Windows Anytime Upgrade". It also has instructions on how to upgrade on the disk. "Click Start Button. Type upgrade in Start Search box. Click Windows Anytime Upgrade."
Thanks again -
Anyone, have any advice?
Bunch of stuff
