I need to know if all DVD/CD-RW from OEM like Dell, Toshiba, etc... will work in the Ultrabay of an IBM Thinkpad 600X. My thoughts are that since notebook drives are universal like the 2.5"; the optical drive should be too. Also, does anyone know how one goes about finding an optical drive from manufacturers like Samsumg, Toshiba, Lite-On, Panasonic, etc... that will work in a 600X? They look all the same form from what I can tell. Thanks!

The only vendor I found is NewEgg.com. Can some else also supply me with other vendors too!

    Thanks.[ :)]

No they are not like the notebook hard drives which are universal. For the DVD/CDRW or anything that goes into a bay, you have to buy from the manufacturer as each companies bays and many times bays from different models from the same company differ.
