Hi, I have HPdv5 1215-tx laptop.
I want to buy a SSD. prime reason is, my current harddisk is over 3 years old.I want to shift my OS etc to a new harddisk, because of the degradation of the current drive before it fails-it is my understanding that the longer the period of use the higher the probabilty of failure).
Reason I choose SSD is because of the speed advanage:
Q1) I have zeroed in on 2 models:
CORSAIR SSD DRIVE 120GB (CSSD-F120GB3A)
KINGSTON SSD DRIVE 120GB (SVP200S3/120G)
which one should I buy of the two (these 2 are the ones available and in my budget) - 120gig is ok for me.
Q2) How reliable are they versus their spinning counterparts? I used to think they are more reliable...but after reading some articles I have some concern.

1. Why those 2 drives and where are you buying? If in the US, the Samsung 830 128GB is a better option and is currently on sale at Newegg for $80, I believe.
2.Pretty reliable as long as you stick to good controllers. Chances of controller failure is much, much higher than the chance you'll wear out the NAND. -
Where I live, these are the 2 options. About the controller, I will be putting them in my laptop, in place of the harddisk in it. How do I find out which controller I have?

If those are your only options, I'd choose based on:
1. customer support
2. price and accessories included -
Ok, so how reliable are both the drivers in comparision to their traditional harddisks (spinners)?
