hello everyone and I had a question that I though a few of you could answer....would it be worth it to buy a laptop with the base config then purchase what ya want from somewhere like newegg.com? It's a Thinkpad X61...
TIA
-
No, it's only economical to purchase barebones desktops. Esp. since most people don't have the skills necessary to put an entire laptop together due to lack of space.
-
Only RAM and maybe HDD are really user friendly for upgrading. RAM being definitly worth looking at to buy on your own. CPU,GPU and most others no way buy from OEM at purchase.
-
oh sorry...didn't mention that RAM and HDD is that all I would upgrade. so then it does?
-
whats the fastest HDD for a laptop out there?
-
Standard, @7200rpm. Which particular I don't know, also you need to give me the size before I even think about looking.
-
oh I figure that it was just a given that a 7200rpm was always gunna be the faster then a 5400rpm HDD
-
With newer yes but some older 7200 might be slower than current 5400.
-
well a smaller one 60GB-100GB.....it will be used as a secondary computer
-
Makes perfect sense to me.
Memory for sure, HDD maybe. CPU in the distant future if at all. I'm sure you know that the graphics for that model are integrated so it's not upgradable. -
yep, I knew that....I have my sager 5790 to game on anyways, hehe
