I'm looking to buy a new computer for web surfing and extensive photo and video editing - making slideshows, printing pictures, and burning media onto discs (DVD and Blu-Ray). Will a setup with a Core 2 Duo T9300 processor, an Nvidia 8400M GT graphics card, and 4GB 667Mhz DDR2 RAM be enough to do all this well, meaning the machine wont be slow?

The machine will be fine, but the 8400M GT will become a bottleneck at some point. And I would steer clear of the Geforce 8M Series. Go for a notebook with a 9200M GS/9500M GS, or go ATI.

So the 8400M GT really doesn't have enough power for extensive HD photo and video editing. What about the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 (256MB) - also, will I be able to play new HD games on it (Fall out 3, Crysis, Warhammer Online, Gears of War)

Current photo-editors are not GPU-intensive, but the new Photoshop release will be.

The GPU will be used more in 3D-Modelling and gaming, and the 8400M GT and the HD 3470 will be fine for 3D-modelling and low-end gaming.

If wanting to play Crisis look at the 9650M GS or the HD 3850 and above.
