What would a C2D 1.66 be if it was a single processor? And how does it rate to a desktop processor?

A slightly faster Core Solo T1300? Kind of hard to tell you anything without having a basis for comparison.

such comparisons are utterly useless. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

hehe, agreed, but OP it is like a single core. What are you trying to ask? What do you want to know? Maybe a 2Ghz P4?

As a single I doubt it will beat a 3Ghz. As a dual core, yes without a doubt real world no problem.

As powerpack briefly noted, it depends on the type of chip. I think a 1.66GHz C2S will probably beat a 3GHz P4, but I don't think it'll be able to beat, say, a 3GHz Athlon 64.

If you're talking P4 terms, then that 1.66 C2D will spank a 3.0GHz P4 in single threaded apps.
