Any reason to pay extra for the M4 using a SATA II interface? It's about $80 more on eBay.

How much does it cost on eBay compared to Crucial.com?

Honestly, I would just get the cheaper one. From what I have seen, the performance isn't that different and probably even closer on SATAII.

My C300 has been very good to me, especially since firmware 0007.

$399 on eBay, dealing with non eBay options isn't possible for me currently.

$80 is not worth it in my opinion.

No point really in getting a Sata III for a Sata II connection only. Like getting a ferrari and adjusting it to where it can only use 6 cylinders

Only sequential read would be maxed out on SATAII with these drives.

Looking at Anand's benchmarks, light workload (probably closest to normal notebook usage) there isn't a significant difference between C300 and C400 on SATA II.

So definitely not worth any premium.

The question I must bring up is one I though about before buying mine that some people don't. These ssd drives won't last forever, but they will last as long as your laptop and maybe after. So, the question may become, "how long will I use this laptop, or do I expect to get another laptop in the near future that will support sata III?" If it's a year or less away, it may be worth it to get the M4. If it's a couple of years away, I'd get the C300 and upgrade again to a faster drive with the new laptop.

I got the C300 256gb about 2 weeks ago. Just a couple days before the C400/M4 was launched. I first thought I would return it and get the M4, but even on SATA III (which I have) the minimal performance increase was not worth it for me. Granted, I go my C300 for $370 on Amazon (same seller is now selling for $414). I was actually thinking about getting another one and putting them in Raid, but with the price increase on the C300 (who knows why), I think I'll wait.
