Thanks for reading ive posted before but this is diff question

My laptops screen is barely visible IE if i sit in a dark room with a headtourch on i can barely see it, external display works fine,.

So today i got my m8s old Dell 1710 and swapped out his LCD it was exactly the same barely visible.

So with that in Mind am i on the right track if i replace the inverter ?

is there anything else that can make the screen do this or are the basics the LCD and this Inverter ?

    thanks in advance

Sounds like an inverter issue. Give it a try.
