Do CCFL displays brightness change a lot depending on the numbers of hours it is on? I am currently evaluating a a CCFL WXGA+ display and am finding the display brightness(set to max) varies compared to another laptops with a 14" WXGA+ LED also set to max.

The difference is almost un-noticeable. Is my mind playing tricks or is this regular behavior?

possibly the inverter board (ccfl power supply) and/or the ccfl tube itself is on it's way out
