Well, my cd drive on my old Dell (for work) seems to be unable to recognize any media. I have tried to reinstall drivers, and it still doesnt work. Any help would be ... helpful![]()
P.S the drive is a QSI
-
is it recognized in windows? is it recognized in the bios? does it open and spin up trying to read the disk?
-
It is displayed in the BIOS as well as the Windows Device Manager. Whenever I place a disk inside it never spins for a second and then stops, thusly a disk has never been played or read.
-
Is the drive a TSSTCorp? See if you can find out. There have been numerous problems with that brand. Or, it could just be that the drive has finally died.
-
No, it does not come from them. Also the drive is functional in that it does everything except read disks.
-
What else could it be doing, if it's not reading disks?
Just sounds like the drive died then.
