    CD Rom question

    i am having problems with my cd rom on my notebook. i have need for speed most wanted and when i put in the cd to play the game it reads the game but wont start the game, now that i got BF2 it does the same both games are EA games..could it be a problem with my cd rom or the games it self.?

    Could be either, can you try installing the games on another machine? What exactly are you doing when you put eh disks in? Also, can your drive read other disks?

    when installing the games. i do what i am suppose to do.. and yes my cd drive can read other cd ,,,, ... when i try to play either games i put in the cd it will strat the auto start but when i click lets say play BF2 some times it will start and sometimes it wont...samething goes for the nfp most wanted game...

    does your drive read other cds (try both burned and professionally manufactured)? can it burn anything? if you have a removable drive, try reseating it.

    How did you determine that it is a hardware (CD drive) problem and not software, either the game itself, windows, or drivers?

    Try updating your graphics drivers. Also check if their are updates/patches for the games.
