    Hello all,

i just got my new M1710 3 weeks ago and it has run great until now, first off the other day the sound card suddenly stoped working so i restarted the computer and it worked again, ok thats good, then msn messenger will not work anymore either and i have been in contact with microsoft and they have no idea, now when i put in a cd it wont read it, in "my computer" it says it is a cd rom but when i click on it nothing happens it just goes to a blank window as if the cd was blank, audio cds will work if accessed through a player like windows media player. can anyone help cause for the cost this stuff should not be happening and i am not happy!
    thanks guys

Did you restore your system back to the very begining? I would completely reformat. There is this thing that dell usually puts in so you can. You press like f11 or f11+alt. I can't remember, but I have done it once.
