CES 2020 - The Weirdest And Most Interesting Tech!

CES 2020 is upon us and I’m super excited! For this event coverage, I’m running around to find the most exciting booths offering the weirdest tech. I ended up finding some really great mobile transportation devices, some awesome visuals and screens, and even some crazy tires that are airless! This was my first time at CES 2020 and I must say, it was quite the adventure and packed with the best tech in every corner! It really doesn't get much better than this. *Special Thanks to B&H for sponsoring this video and letting me come out here to CES 2020!

    GYMCADDY
So there’s a lot going on at CES, but for this video we’re going to focus mainly on Sony and Sennheiser. So first off, no just as I predicted Sony did not announce the 1000XM4. Do you really think sony was going to announce the 1000XM4’s right after the 1000XM3’s were on sale for $278? If they announced the 1000XM4’s now Sony would run the risk of getting a large chunk of their recently sold 1000XM3’s returned. Putting them at a loss.

@undervolter0x0309, glad to see the enthusiasm for the new offerings coming soon! Even if we're on opposite sides of the fence. :)

There is no 'X' Tax - there is only the choice(s) available at the time and the available budget each of us has to spend on these tools (for me)/toys (for some). ;)

The fluff you speak of is the advances I've been waiting for, even if I didn't know I needed it a mere few months previously.

I don't support mediocrity, I support working tools for my currently profitable workflows/workloads. The 'team' that those $$$$$$ goes to isn't a major concern once I've made the decision to spend that $$$$.

I too have been looking for great 17" mobile workstations, I hope they get more love this year from the big players.

Epic year? Oh yeah! 2021 is also looking pretty great too right now.

I think the trick over the next few months is to pick and choose carefully whichever platform you decide on betting for the next few years. Because in a few short months, it may already be greatly surpassed. By features/capabilities we didn't even consider seriously today.

    Segway's S-Pod hands-on at CES 2020

    Jan 8, 2020
    Engadget
Once you get past oddities like bread-making machines, CES is really wouldn't be what it is without some forward-looking mobility concepts. Case and point: next week Segway and owner Ninebot will show off a prototype electric vehicle called the S-Pod that looks like a horseless chariot. According to the two companies, the 330.7 pound S-Pod can cruise at a top speed of 24.8 miles per hour. They claim it's also easy to drive thanks to a feature that automatically balances the vehicle while it's moving. The current prototype can travel about 43.5 miles before its battery needs to be charged. Read our full story on Engadget: https://www.engadget.com/2020/01/03/s...

    Hey,

While I was looking for laptops from CES, I accidentally found some info about Asus laptops on this page https://www.wi-fi.org/product-finde...der=asc&capabilities=16&keywords=zephyrus duo

There are the new Zephyrus G14 and G15 announced at CES, but also some others unknown models such as a "Zephyrus duo 15" which I never heard about, and also some refreshed models of existing ones. I wonder when these are planned to get revealed, I haven't found information on any other websites, if u guys have feel free to share :).

While CES 2020 wasn't all that exciting in terms of motherboard releases, MSI did have an ace up its sleeve with the long-awaited Tomahawk for the X570 generation. Tomahawk boards have been perennial best sellers thanks to a seemingly perfect combinations of features for the price, and this one will be no different. Also on display were the ultra-classy Prestige content creator PC and the ultra-out there Aegis gaming PC!

[CES 2020 AMD] Is 64 cores too many cores?!? w/ Steve from Gamers Nexus
    Jan 15, 2020
    PCWorld
Gordon and Steve Burke from Gamers Nexus talk how they plan to test all the cores in AMD's 64-core Ryzen Threadripper 3990x.

    Manuel Martinez 4 days ago
"Hi Steve, I’m a CAE engineer. We run structural simulations. I just left work leaving the server running an analysis that’s going to take about 6 hours running in parallel in 3 nodes of 32 threads each (96 threads in total). Having that power (and some more) in a single socket on a desktop is bad ass for engineers. You should look into including benchmarks with Abaqus/Ansys/Optistruct/Nastran/... models for this high core count processors (if you could find a license). It would be really useful and interesting for engineers like me. Most channels I know just do rendering benchmarks. Cheers"

Marco Rasetto 4 days ago (edited)
"I personally work in a field of non conventional AI (Spiking neural networks), where I need a lot of non-synchronized threads, thus GPUs are not an option. Threadripper would be perfect for small nets to run on my desk. (I have a 12 cores 3900x right now that linearly scaled from my 7700HQ of my laptop when normalized on ipc and frequency, and I get to 100% cpu utilization)"

    TechGuy 4 days ago (edited)
"Use cases? OpenFOAM ! Run the OpenFOAM test suite ! Contact me if you need instructions. You don't think big compile jobs are representative ? Have you ever been a developer ?"

    Telamonster 4 days ago (edited)
"Look into Finite Element Analysis, packages like Ansys or LS Dyna should scale pretty well with core count. This is the kind of work where my 10 man office is still arguing priority for running the bigger jobs on a single 96 core multi-cpu server in another room, but the idea of engineering work stations with 64 cores at every desk is awfully tempting."

    Notthedroids Yourelookingfor 4 days ago
"I work in computational fluid dynamics. We book time on a computer cluster to run our simulations. 64 cores on a local machine would be a blessing for getting quick feedback before running the big simulation."

    GeoStreber 4 days ago
"I'll say this once and for all: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "TOO MANY CORES""

    Tnarg Donald 1 day ago
"I will be buying a 3990 for processing Aerial Lidar processing. We can max our 2970wx out for hours on end right now."

    Owen Patterson 9 hours ago
"You guys really need to add engineering simulation benchmarks to your HEDT testing suite. Finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics can really benefit from high core counts, and NOBODY covers performance in these workloads. Video editing is not the only use for high end components, and I would love it if youtubers acknowledged this fact."

    stunt94u 3 hours ago
"I would love to see CPUs with 16/24/32/64 cores tested/reviews by people in the field they were made for."

The AMD Ryzen 7 4800U is a monster 8 core, 16 thread CPU that's meant for the thin and light notebook market. Can Intel's Ice Lake Compete? Probably not. It could be that AMD will now dominate on the notebook side as well.
