Hey, Im thinking of upgrading to a Larger and Faster HDD for my laptop. But i really dont want to re-install windows and all my programs.
Has anyone used this? http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2335569,00.asp
If so, how was it? did it get all the data? Any problems caused by it??

My friend Alex has one of those. All it is, is an external enclosure.
The software provided can copy files onto the harddrive automatically.
However, I think you should research disc cloning.
Say you have a 60gb 5400rpm drive with 40gb of files.
If you download a trial copy of acronis true image from acronis' website, you can clone your entire harddrive.
Than you simply follow the instructions, and you can clone everything back onto the new harddrive.
It is a fast way of reinstalling everything.

Does your laptop have eSATA or firewire? You might want to consider those enclosures instead as they perform much faster than USB 2.0.
Using software to clone your operating system is likely the fastest/most efficient way to transition to a new harddrive, however the only drawback is understanding the whole process of how to use the clone software and procedure.
Using one-touch backup methods that come with some hard drive enclosures only copies files automatically and it does not actually clone an image of the hard drive over to the new one. -
Could you point me to a Firewire Enclosure?
Oh and one more thing, Whats the problem with just automattically Copying files instead of making an Image.
