    Hello
    Im thinking about Dell Inspiron™ 1525 .
Notebook should be used for audio applications (like Ableton Live , Arturia etc.) .

I dont know which CPU I should choose . When Im thinking about that I dont want the most powerful CPU because it is usually very expensive and I have spent to much of moneys in my live for computers , so I dont want to invest more than is necessary .
My question is simple which CPU would you choose if performance vs price is the most important article .
Dell offer now (but maybe it is good idea dont limit answers with this list and its good idea to think about future :) ):

    T2370 (1.73Ghz, 533 MHz FSB, 1 MB L2 cache)
    T2390 (1.86Ghz, 533 MHz FSB, 1 MB L2 cache)
    T5550 (1.83 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 cache)
    T5750 (2.00 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 cache)
    T7250 (2.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 cache)
    T8100 (2.10 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 3 MB L2 cache)
    T8300 (2.40 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 3 MB L2 cache)
    T5850 (2.16 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 cache)

    thanks you

T8100 if you have a budget. Youd definately want a penryn processor

yeah .-) T7250 and T8100 seems to me best choice too ...
look at prices (converted from CZE to US) :
    The same configuration with

    T5750 - 1209,3
    T7250 - 1256,2
    T8100 - 1296,2
    T8300 - 1338,7

between T7250 and T8100 is small difference so should I go for T8100 ? ..

Theres a significant difference between the T7250 and T8100.

The T8100 is from the newer generation cpu's (penryn) which run cooler and give you more battery life.

    thanks you for reply
I have only two questions ...

Is it big difference between T8100 and T8300 (I mean in performance) ?

Should I wait for AMD Puma or go for T8100 ?

Performance wise there is 300MHz difference, which isn't noticeable for most daily tasks. However, I feel if the upgrade is something like $50 and you can spare the money, then there is no reason not to. Puma's processors still aren't up to par with Intel's but they focus more on graphics performance.
