Hi! Thinking abuot new notebook so the question about CPU.
P8700 is 2.53 with 3MB cache and 25W
P8800 is almostthe same but a bit faster - 2.66
P9700 is 2.8 With 6MB and 35W.
I wonder if Cache size really noticeable? Would i feel it in any applications?
I work with Photoshop, Lightroom alot, alongside with programming.
How much is the difference in speed or batarey life?
If there's a test between then, it'd great.
I see, there's some difference in a clock. but i think if the Extra cache matters?

A larger cache will give you 0-10% improvement depending on the applications. It's not really significant. P9700 is a good processor but is damn expensive so i don't think it's worth the money. What's the price difference ???
And btw, it has a 28W TDP not 35W. -

I suggest looking for a notebook that has a Core 2 Quad Q9000 CPU - it is only 2.0GHz but has four cores, and will be significantly faster than any of those dual core processors for the work you're doing.
How much are the P8800 and P9700 relative to the P8700? -
Keep in mind that not all laptops that can take P-series dual cores can take quad cores.

At first i choose from 13", but later added 15 to comparsion in case it has 9600 and faster CPU. Haven't decided yet if it worth it.
IMO Z is better then MPB13 in case of display and weight.
But 15 has matte screen and fast graphics(but sony still has more resolution.)
I dont want to get quad, i want to have a fast and light lap, and long batarey life.
Even if i buy 15"MPB i hope to left power adaptor home.
I have no laps yet, so i'm very interested in what you think about it.

P8700 is the best choice. You won't notice a difference in the slight increase in speed or cache to warrant the cost.
