This is something I'm just curious about, since I've only used Nvidia cards so far. With an ATI GPU only, would you be able to enable Physx effects at all, using the CPU to render, or is it just not possible? I'm sure that using the CPU is far slower than an Nvidia GPU, and its probably not even worth it. Its something I am curious about.
If its even possible, do the Physx-compatible games come with the files needed or would I have to download the Nvidia Forceware drivers, even if I only have an ATI GPU?![]()

NVIDIA PHYSX SYSTEM SOFTWARE
I think it should run on your CPU, (If I recall correctly, there were some complaints about PhysX being single threaded or something like that) but I'm not sure. -
Hmm, I wonder how would things work if I had an ATI GPU with ATI and Nvidia drivers installed? I'm sure there'd be some sort of conflict.

It's just an installer for PhysX. It doesn't install graphics drivers as far as I know, but maybe you don't even need it.

PhysX has nothing to do with the drivers themselves so you can install it without any problems.
CPU Physx on ATI card?
