I have an intel core 2 duo T6600 2.2Ghz but my clocks seem to be off. Shouldnt each clock go up to 2200 Mhz instead of 1200 mhz? I attached a picture of my cpu-id profile. The cpu-id actually alternates between x6 and x11. Please help me with my troubles.

P.S. Its a dell studio 17 i dont think it makes a difference but w/e.

You cpu has a feature called speedstep , it adjust the cpu speed to a lower frequency to save power when your cpu is doing nothing , but it will jump to 2200mhz when it is stressed, also make sure you are running in balanced power mode and not powersaver.

You can use a program called Wprime to stress you cpu to see if goes to 2200mhz

If you go to the advanced power settings you can modify this behavior under your plan of choice. I'm not sure what the default setting is for power saver mode, but as Tinderbox (UK) touched on, it may not let the CPU clock to its maximum frequency.

Just set it under "Performance" under the windows power management panel, and hit the advanced options and set it to not let the "Minimum Processor State" to not go below 100%. But you'll notice decreased battery life if you don't switch it back to balanced or power saver when on battery.
