Hey guys, I am currently considering buying the Everex XT5000T (yay ~$600 saved). Of course, the RAM will be upgraded to 2x1GB. Now, what I am wondering is whether or not I should upgrade the CPU (TL 50 as shipped) in the future, say when the Turion TL60 drops down to ~$150ish or when the new wave of AMD mobiles come out.

The lappy will be used for some frequent gaming, and I guess the question comes down to "will the TL 50 be a bottleneck for gaming."

    Other relative specs:
    Geforce Go 7600 256MB 128-bit
    100GB 5400
    2x1GB DDR2 533 SDRAM

    Advices are appreciated.

It shouldnt be a bottleneck since the graphics card is not exactly a top of the range performer. It may not be as fast as a similar setup with a Core 2 Duo in it but the AMD will not really be your bottleneck here. As for upgrading yes you can, either with or without a BIOS upgrade it is possible. However the newer AMDs will come with a faster "fsb" which may not be compatible with the motherboard in your laptop.

Actually I was going for the 15.4'' ASUS F3JP, ~$1300, but with that much $ I can almost get 2 x Everex, which is ~$700.

I would seriously wonder about the build quality of a $700 notebook like that...
