    Hello,
I'm thinking about upgrading my cpu, is there any good model to replace my 2670QM or it is already good enough? Would it help me with performance in games like BF3?

    Regards

BF3 is more GPU bottlenecked, especially with a GTX560M. Unless you are really CPU bottlenecked, it really isn't worth it. You could give 2920XM a shot.

Yup... BF3 is likely a bit more taxing on your gpu instead of the cpu.
    I see your 560M is a DDR3 one?
Wow... Nvidia really did a number on people by putting out too many bad variations on the gpu in question.

I wouldn't bother upgrading to 2920XM because it probably won't help either way.

The decision to include whether ddr3 or ddr5 is not up to nvidia as they only sell GPUs to the laptop manufactures like dell, asus, lenovo etc, they decide what kind of video memory they are going to use for each specific model.

But yeah, ddr3 on 560M is really lame, that probably makes it worse than a 192 bit 460M. And like Tsunade and Deks said, upgrading to a higher CPU won't help because you will be bottlenecked by the video card.

    I think that's a typo. All GTX 560M cards are DDR5. The Asus G74SX, unlike the G53SX, uses a proper 192-bit card.

As noted, the graphics card is the bottleneck. Look into either using a different graphics card driver or overclocking the video card itself; both of these can improve performance. Check the ASUS forum to see what other owners have done:

P.S. - If the 2670QM isn't fast enough, then the 2920XM isn't going to be either.

if you opt for the 2920XM route, get the 2860QM instead since it has better stock performance while at the same level of price and you will not be able to overclock anyway.

IIRC all new ASUS G series have soldered GPU's and not the ASUS proprietary reverse MXM.

You'd best either overclock your GPU or sell your notebook and buy a more powerful laptop up front.
