So I am going to upgrade to the X9100 for my laptop. Before I buy it, I have a few questions.
*Has anyone a detailed "How To"
*Do I need to reformat after installation
*Any other things I need to know about this such as voltage and heat problems
*Where can I buy AS5 via paypal
*Who has pros and cons
I love this laptop. I want better multitasking and gaming efficiency. Thanks!

What are the current specs of your system?
The X9100 will work, but it is awefully expensive so you may want to check other alternative processors out.
The X9100 will only be faster in cpu intensive tasks, so if your current processor is not running at 100% load than a cpu upgrade will do nothing for you.
Chances are a harddrive and memory upgrade will make your system a lot faster than a new processor.

Don't buy AS5, especially for a notebook. I keep seeing it recommended on these forums when it's been surpassed in both thermal capability and component safety by both Arctic Cooling MX-2 and Tuniq TX-2. On top of that, neither of those is electrically conductive so you run no risk of ruining your parts by making an unwanted electrical connection.

Bump for the cause.
P.S. If no one has a link to a step by step PM me and I'll upload pics for ya. It's REALLY easy. -
GoodSpeed; yes, please post. This forum is so massive, it is hard to find anything directly related. I would appreciate it very much.
I don't care for expensive. But it would be nice to run games such as crysis at max performance. This laptop is nice. Having a better CPU is going to make it that much better. I don't care to much about battery life. I normally leave it plugged in anyway.
Thanks for the info on the AS5. I will explore other avenues you mentioned. At least some people are helpful.
