    CPU Upgrade T9600 ???

    Im looking at getting a T9600. I've been shoping around and for the most part they are around $550. most chips i see are the SLB47 sept code...but i found this one for $250 that is QJ4C setp code it says (ES version at the same origional SLB47). is this a good chip? do i want this?

    lol, I bought a t9900 for $425 from ebay.

    I think ES stands for engineering sample, which are made for testing purposes only.

    ES have unlocked multiplier so nothing is limited ..

    No they don't. ES is just that, an engineering sample made prior to the OEM version. There are various revisions of ES samples, not all are alike. If you get an E0, you're good to go. The only laptop CPU's that have unlocked multipliers are the xtreme series... doesn't matter if they are ES or OEM.

    I just received it today! My ICD7 thermal paste will be arriving early next week (I will be posting lots of pictures of my upgrade adventure in the hp forums next week :D ).
