    I have a question regarding the performance difference between T7500 against T8100 and T8300 respectively.

    Links to CPU-information:

    The general question is was matters really, the T7500 have 4MB cache while the 8-series has 3MB, the 8-series has 45nm tech instead of 65nm, the ghz varies some between all models.

    I myself would place them in the order;
    1 - T8300
    2 - T7500
    3 - T8100

    How do you reason and do please motivate the choices =)

    Thx

    Ultimately the performance difference between the three is going to be negligible to small; it's like less than 5 seconds between the lot in wPrime (with the T8300 slightly ahead of the other two). That being said, I'd personally rank the T8300 AND the T8100 above the T7500 simply due to the lower power consumption. The only way I'd take the T7500 above the Penryns is if I somehow had some heavily used app that really made good use of the extra 1MB of L2... and I honestly don't think you can find such a thing.

    From 3 MB to 6 MB cache you have roughly 4% improvement. So you can imagine how negligible the improvement is from 3-4. The 8300 I have is more than I need. It does the job perfectly and it has lower power consumption.

    lindstroem, the 7500 has 4MB cache not 2MB.

    The Penryns will have an edge in non-media stuff, such as encoding, coding, compressing, etc mainly due to SSE4.1....and the T8xxx series has a very good voltage-tolerance.

    Great, so the T8-series is defidently the way to go then =)

    Good voltage-tolerance?

    If done right -- Low temps -> Less fan noise, More battery life....without any compromise on performance. Who wouldn't be interested ?
    If anyone isn't, then imho he/she is.. [IMG]

    You forget one thing. 90 % of PC users out there have no idea what a raid set up is. Sure, if he is willing to read and spend time testing and rebooting on BSODS until he gets the right settings.

    The t7 serries and the t8 serries use the same power. The P8 serries uses 25 watts.
