Which is a correct cpu temperature for a latop ?

I have an hp 6510b with cpu scaling enabled and I'd like which is a "correct" average temperature both when I'm on battery and when I'm on ac power.

Currently I stay on about [45-55] Celsius

My computer is 50-65C, so I guess yours is doing alright. I would say over 80C is unhealthy.

    edit: 50C idle - 65C load

40-50 idle depending on ambient temps

70-85 max load depending on ambient temps

Of course the cooler the better.

On a laptop running with a desktop processor it runs at 45-50C idle and under 70C load @ over 3ghz. I should think mobile processors should be cooler in healthy circumstances.

It really depends because although they produce less heat than desktop CPUs, they have poorer cooling.
