    Hi,

    The actual config is :
    - 4 GB RAM DDR2 667Hz
    - HDD Hitachi SATA Device 120GB 7200RPM
    - NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M 512MB

I currently have the Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 (2M Cache, 2.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 35 watts) and I want to upgrade it. What is the fastest processor that I can get for this model ?

I made some researches and these came up :
    - T9500 (6M Cache, 2.60 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 35 watts)
    - X7900 (4M Cache, 2.80 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 44 watts)
    - X9000 (6M Cache, 2.80 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 44 watts)

Do I have to stick with the 35 watts and the 800 MHz ?

Is there other better options ($$ is not important) ?

    Thanks

no there are no 1066MHz FSB processors u can use... you have the old santa rosa platform which can only use 800 MHz FSB processors... u might want to upgrade ur hard drive and as far as processors are considered, don't consider the X9000 as i doubt your notebook has the ability to overclock it so u'll be stuck at 2.8 Ghz with it and its not worth $300-500.. I would say that T9500 would be the best from the 3 you for what benefits u get but T9300 is the most cost efficient one and there's little or no difference between T9500 and T9300 so get T9300..

You can use any socket P processor with an FSB of 800MHz or less. This should include the X9000 (as Dell originally shipped the M6300 with X9000s), but maybe not the X7900. Regardless, the X9000 is the fastest processor you can put in this machine, but the T9500 is arguably a much better value.

What programs do you use? If you can justify the cost for work or whatever, X9000 will be the fastest option. If you're more concerned about performance per cost, T9300 would typically be best. You'd have to list what prices you can get before determining a more accurate performance per cost figure.
