    hey guys

My parents have given me this laptop for nothing as its been in a cupboard for 2 years since it got replaced. I've added 1GB of ram which has helped it alot and installed windows 7.

I've been wanting to replace the CPU for a faster alternative. I've already read through some posts on here regarding chipset and socket compatibility and i've decided on the Intel T5300 as a modest replacement.

However i'm asking you guys first before i order it. I've seen a few people on here with 7201's that have upgraded their CPU's to something like a T2250 (or along those lines) but had problems due to a possible faulty CPU. I've not really read through any solid evidence of anyone successfully running another CPU in this laptop but surely there must be someone?

The only problem i can see with the T5300 is that its dual core and my BIO's might not like it. Can i update it? Im running Phoenix notebios 4.0 release 6.1.

    Many thanks everyone :)
