    CPU with "core glass chipping" ... a concern?

    What they probably mean is that the silicon die has some scratches possibly caused by IC Diamond thermal paste. They do have a returns policy and the listing does say 100% working so if you buy it and anything goes wrong, guess you can either return it or file a dispute for wrongful description.

    okay noob question, why does on uses IC Diamond if it scratches the die?

    Because the material used in IC Diamond (and some other aftermarket pastes) are much better conductors of heat than stock OEM paste. Scratching is a very minor concern, mainly only cosmetic.

    In a nutshell, "Because it runs cooler, yo!"

    THat's what I thought, i was going to buy artic silver but i'll just shell out some more and get IC Diamond.

    I had bought some cheapo fry's branded crap, and have been doing a good job so far.
