I'm very interested to find what others think on the topic.
Is it better to (or would you) buy a notebook with a CULV processor in it OR do you think it's a waste of money and buy a much powerful processor for similar money ($100 difference between a SU7300 (10hr battery life) and an i3-320M (3hr battery life) - lets based it on this scenario).

It's a strange question, since the title says SU7300 vs i7 720qm, but then in the body of your post, you want to compare the 7300 with the core i3.
Which one is it?
I have found that even between the SU2300 vs SU7300 (I have both), for day-to-day tasks they perform about the same. The i3 would be a waste for me, for that I would definitely need something more powerful like the core i7 720, and a powerful GPU. Of course, battery life would take a substantial hit.
It depends on what you'll use he laptop for, but I think you already know that. -

Yeah the title for supposed to say e.g. instead of i.e. ...sorry about that. I can't seem to edit it. -
As said all depends on usage. Performance or battery life. Which do you need.

anyways , it exaggerating with SU7300 getting 10hrs.. 8 is more realistic.. the i3 can actually get 6-7 hours with G310M graphics... so it really depends.. IMO , it depends on what u want.. for gaming SU7300 is just not enough.. that's where new core i5 and i7 CULV processors come but they seem to be not having that good battery life.. although there is 20-30% performance increase over SU7300.. another issue is upgradibilty.. CULV processors aren't upgradeable while standard ones usually are.
CULV (SU7300) vs Non-CULV (i.e. T2250, i7-720QM)
