    Hi,

I have a m4400 that has a ssd installed in it which I want to install in my Alienware. I have to clone it to a hdd so all that is on the ssd is on the hdd so I can format the ssd.
Is it possible to clone a ssd on a hdd?
    What software is most recommended?
    Thanks

    Cloning? Not recommended (by me).

Do a proper clean install on the HDD and a data backup (to two or more different drives) from the SSD and verify, verify, verify before you wipe the SSD clean.

Otherwise; yeah, you can clone from any storage device to any other.

    Recommended software? None.

    Good luck.

Should be possible, not sure how great the results would be. Not sure how cloning would take between two different machines, as drivers and such should be different for both.

Aj, I 'think' he/she'll be moving/formatting the SSD to a new computer; he want's to clone the SSD to the HDD to put in the computer the SSD is in now...

Ah I see what you mean. It did strike me as odd. I recently went from the stock 750gb HDD to the 1tb Hitachi 7200 rpm HDD and used Macurium (spelling?) with no problems. Fresh installs are always best, but I just couldn't fathom the fact it would take like 6.8 years to redownload and install all 120 games I have on steam.
