    I'm thinking of buyin a 320gb (or waiting for the rumored 500 gb one) for my laptop and then taking my laptop hd and put it in the WD passport. Would it work with power requirements?

    You are better off getting a 2.5" enclosure rather that modifying a pre-built setup.

    well the thing about it is that I want the pre-existing usb-powered enclosure, woudl that be possible?
