Let me tell you a little sob story....

So one day I'm browsing the internet and I come upon the best mp3 player I have ever seen: The Archos 605 Wifi. I went ahead and bought the 30 gb model without missing a beat. When it arrived, I knew I was in love.
Then one day, tragedy. Long story short, It is now defective (don't ask why, if you do, I will not answer), and so I thought I could save the memory on it some how. So I took it apart and took the internal HDD. It looks like this:

It is called the Seagate Lyrion ST730212DE hard drive IDE.

    Specs:

    30 GB
    1.8"
    IDE
    3600
    rpm
    buffer: 2 MB

So is it possible to save all of the media I had on it? I'm sorry if it is obvious, but I'm not the most hardware savvy. Thx

    Alright cool.
Let me just make sure I do get it. So what I do is buy a USB to IDE adapter and a 1.8 to 3.5 IDE adaptor, then I mount the HDD onto the 1.8 to 3.5 adaptor, and connect that to a USB to IDE adaptor, then that through a usb port, correct?

Yep. You will need a power supply somewhere in there, but most IDE to USB adapters will come with one.

And that adaptor on ebay you linked me states its Toshiba capable 1.8's. Would you like me to take a pic of the port (the front) on the HDD to see if it's compatible?

And yea, the ones on ebay did have power supplies.

Theoretically all 1.8" drives should have the same connector, just like all 2.5" and 3.5" drives have the same connectors. I have no reason to believe that your drive would use a different connector, especially since it's made by... Seagate.

Alright, I'll take your word for it. Especially as inexpensive those components are. Thank you for your help.
