    Hi.
The screen on my C655-S5128 is cracked. Since led's are easier to get and cheaper I am wondering if I can upgrade to a led screen?
    Thanks for any help

For the most part no; but it is possible. It would require tons of independent research, modifications [splicing 1 wire into 2], and basically you experimenting on which LED panel would work.

It would just be easier to buy a CCFL screen and having the confidence in knowing it will work.

Good luck and let us know how the replacement goes

Took only a bit of research:
C655-S5128 Part Number: PSC12U-04001W uses V000225000 motherboard and ccfl lcd

C655-S9520D Part Number: PSC12U-04601U also uses V000225000 motherboard but has a led lcd

all information from toshiba and sparepartwarehous
so should be an easy swap besides needing another cable for the led screen? Any thoughts?

Seems possible if the model does come with a CCFL and LED option.
Sorry, but I do not know how to further assist you. I can however move this thread to the Hardware subforum if you wish; you may receive better advise there.

Just post here if you want it moved.

Sure. Please move. Thought that was the best place to post but maybe the the Hardware subforum is a better place.
    Thanks

Don't worry, I'll leave a redirect in the Toshiba forums, so those interested can still click on your thread.

In your situation, an alternative is to buy a dead C655 chassis with a screen and transfer your motherboard/internals into it.
