With Satelite M45-S169, Can I upgrade to Pentium M. I wanna change current Celeron CPU by Pentium M (Dothan or Sonoma). But I wanna know how about fan, chipset mainboard,... If I do that. Is it compatible ?
How long can I use with battery 8-cells? Long time of this computer only 1h20 with battery 4-cells. Too bad.
Someone help me. Thank u reading

It is near to impossible to upgrade the processor, as you will not find notebook processor on the shelves, and even if you do, you will need to take apart the whole notebook completely, and even if you do take it apart completely, the processor will most likely be soldered on, or even if it isn't, a lot of compatibility issues will arise.

Processor is not the soldered on, but it is a complex process replacing CPU in notebook. Unless you have good experience with hardware it is not a good idea to open it.

As far as replacing CPU, yes it can be done, for sure with Dothan 400FSB series P-Ms, but you will loose warranty.

I am not even sure if it is worth spending another $250 for replacing the proc. If I were you, I would not.

The dothan Celeron M and dothan Pentium M are pin compatible. The only issue would be the BIOS, but I guess it should support(virtually there is no way to know unless someone tries the upgrade or if you can confirm from Toshiba).

The 8 cell battery should almost double your battery life.
