Hi my mate has a HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop standard specs with what ever they were released with.
He wants to upgrade it, hes firstly thinking of a 500GB 7200rpm HD.
He has 2GB of RAM so I guess this machine would only support a maximum of
4GB ??????????? I'm not sure what chipset it's using.
Also I believe it has a AMD processor can this be upgraded ?????
Anyone with knowledge regarding this model laptop I would love some advice from you.

the hard drive and RAM are very easy upgrades. Go for the hard drive if he needs more space, it will likely be faster as well since its 7200 RPM. As for the RAM, 2gb is more than enough for vista and he should only upgrade it if he sees that RAM usage is around 90-100%
As for the processor, it depends on what he is using the laptop for. If usage is constantly at 100% during tasks, then an upgrade to a faster processor will likely be beneficial. -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
The DV6000 does support 4GB of memory, but it seems like you should do a BIOS update, as early models shipped with a BIOS only capable of taking 2GB. Hard drive shouldn't be a problem, though. The processor too is upgradeable, but I'm not too sure of your options there.
