Hi, I have Sony VaIO F12 with i7-740qm and I was just thinking to change it on i7-640m dual core which also has internal GPU. My graphic card is NVidia GeForse 330m. So, what will be if I do that? Will I be able to use SLI? What problems may be? Will my system recognise when it should use power of 330m and when it should use only internal i7 GPU core for saving battery?
P.S. I helped people a lot. Now help me.
Don't ask me why do I want this. I believe quad core is not very good for me as fast dual core.

Theoretically the chipset should acceptthe Arrandale dual core i7 but your BIOS may not like it. The Studio XPS with the Clarksfield i7 could not downgrade to the Arrandale processors.

Good to know. As I already asked the same question in owners thread of my sony and nobody tried that before it looks like it's risky. But did anyone managed this on other laptops?
Anyone did that write or tried tell your laptop models and results.
