Hello everyone! I'm pretty new here but I have an HP DV2745se laptop with a pretty noisy hard drive. I upgraded the RAM to 4GB before and its been running pretty well... Not well enough for me though. I'm upgrading the hard drive and I saw a pretty good bundle deal on this memory:

It looks like it will be a lot faster than what I have. I wanted to ask, will it work?

According to a quick Google search, that notebook uses 200-pin DDR2 memory. That kit you linked is 204-pin DDR3. It won't be compatible.

If you're looking for a 4GB memory upgrade, this one should suit you just fine:

Kingston is a very good brand of memory, and it's DDR2 800MHz, which is pretty much standard for notebooks. 5-5-5-15 latencies, which is also pretty standard. You could find a 4-4-4-12 kit for a bit more if you really wanted, but it won't make much of a difference.

Always be specific with what type of component you have, some have variations that will only accept one type of model for your system. Getting a new hard drive is not a very bad idea either since there are plenty of people online and offline selling their HDDs with good prices..

as long as you have your ram maxxed out, going from one brand to another does not do anything. pick up a new HDD and get it running at peak performance again. before the drive dies like mine did and you loose your setup.
