Hi, I have 4 GB RAM. Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit recognises 3.5 GB of it. Can I use the remaining (or some) part of the RAM for Intel Turbo Memory????

A bit n00bish question, but please help.

    Thank you. :)

Windows Vista caches it to speed up not to slow down. & with 4GB RAM theres no need for Turbo Memory.
IN SIMPLE: dont waste your time even if it did work it wouldnt be worth it.
IN LOGIC: do you want to see 3.5GB free(the money you wasted) or used?

No, you cannot convert your ram to turbo memory

Yes, as i stated even if it Did work you have no need for it dont worry about your used RAM.

if you have free RAM its bad that means you could have got something else besides the RAM.

    Ohh.

    1) I don't have "free RAM". Vista 32 bit only recognises 3.5 GB of RAM. The 0.5GB of the remaining RAM is not usable.

    2) I got it (the 4 GB RAM) from DELL for free. I did not waste any money. :)

Is Intel T5250 Core 2 Duo a 64 bit processor? I mean, if I get a 64 bit OS, will it run it????

Silas Awaketh, No you can't. Why? Oh so many reasons where to start hmm...? One, RAM is volatile turbo is not. What does that mean? Volatile means when it looses it's power it loses everything stored on it. Turbo is non-volatile like a HDD (and actually even more like a USB memory stick in design), when power is turned off it does not lose data.

    Yes

32bit only recognizes 3.5 & dell doesnt support turbo memory.

    Thanks guys!

Also, I know what volatile means! :p

    Super-also, can T5250 C2D support 64 bit OS????

    Thank you!

Yes, all C2D's support 64 bit processing.
Be warned you may encounter program issues & driver issues.
It would probably be best to dual-boot.
What task do you use your laptop for.

And the other half of the answer is "No, if your computer only recognizes the first 3.5GB, then it can't use the remaining 500MB. How do you expect your computer to use hardware it doesn't recognize? ;)
(More specifically, it does recognize the RAM, but the CPU's total memory space (basically the range of memory addresses it can deal with) is limited to 4GB, and that has to cover more than just RAM access. So it has to leave some RAM unused, because certain address ranges have to be used for special purposes, and then there just aren't enough addresses left.
