If they seem the same, you should be able to use it. They wort that could happend is your computer won't boot.
I know things, things that could get me killed
Thinkpad T41:
* 1.6Ghz Pentium M * 768Mb Memory * 40Gb Hitachi 7200RPM * Panasonic UJ-845-B DVD+RW * -
I have talked with a HP agent, he says my unit is compatible with PC2700. But what I got is PC2100

I am just wondering if 512M PC2700 + 512M PC2100 is better than one 512M PC2700

you will loose speed (a computer is only as fast as its slowest part) but you will gain stability. being able to run more programs at once is a big improvement. Ive had both in a notebook and a gig is a big improvement. improves battery life too. (writes some swap/temp files to the ram insted of spinning up hd)
Compaq Presario R3000z
AMD Athlon 64 3400 - 2.2gHz
1 Gig DDR
15.4BrightVew (1280x800)
100 Gig 4200Rpm
nVedia GeForce 4 440 - 64MB
8x Super Multi w/Multi-layer
802.11b/g, Bluetooth
Can I use a Dell memory chip in a HP laptop?
