Can a Ivy Bridge mobile CPU like a i3-3120M use a module of DDR3-1006 memory?

Intel says it supports 1333/1600, but is it possible to run a 1066 module that I have, which is a good 4GB in size.

Yeah I realise the performance hit, but dual channel will be better than single channel, and its for a budget build laptop, which I don't have yet.

It should run it no problem.

    See:
    ARK | IntelĀ® Core

We all know how inaccurate the Intel 'ark' becomes over time (and this processor was launched over a year ago...), but I would say you're asking for trouble by depending on this configuration.

    Good luck.

Only way to really know is try it out. I can run 1066 no problem in an ivy laptop I have but each machine can be different. It may even try to run it at 1333 and work fine at that speed.
