Hey guys! The HP in my sig uses an SATA harddrive. I was just wondering if it could accept an SATA II hdd.
-
Yes, SATA is backwards compatible both ways - you can use SATA I HDD on SATA II controller and SATA II HDD on SATA I controller.

As long as we are talking HDD's, yes.
Depending on the specific MB and/or SATA implementation, a specific SSD might not work as seamlessly.

Thanks guys! I just ordered the new HDD on Amazon.
Can a laptop that uses an SATA HDD accept an SATA II HDD?
