Your notebook usesEnhanced-IDE hard drive, ATA/100

    40.0GB ATA-100 EIDE hard disk drive - 4,200 RPM, 2.5-inch form factor, 9.5mm height

i dont see any reason why not. it may not go at ata-6 speeds, it might only go at ata-5 but it should work

Ohh thank you, everyone else has been helpless on this issue. I dont care if it doesen't go full speed its just ata-6 is the oldest interface I oculd find on newegg and finding bigger new hard drives in ata-100 is kinda hard nowerdays.

Actually, they long ago did away with 'IDE' as a standard; these days, the commonly referred to IDE moniker typically refers to EIDE devices - i.e. the terms IDE/EIDE are used interchangeably in today's industry.

So in conclusion, yea - it'd work nicely :)
