    Can i do this RAM upgrade?

    It'll work, however, assuming you have two 256 sticks, it should work fine and you'll have at least 1gb of RAM, since I believe you have integrated graphics which will siphon at least 64mb. So at least 11xx mb of ram.

    That ram upgrade would work fine. However, the RAM your talking about is kingston value RAM. I have seen numerous cases where this type of RAM fails very quickly. For an upgrade of this type it is worth spending a little extra for a more reliable brand. My suggestion would be: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/119282

    I think the best RAM manufaturer is Corsair. But because you've got 512mb then any amount will show a great improvement.

    Lifetime warranty! And you will be fine w/value. All brands and all lines have failure and yes some more than others. The failure rates are small either way a 5% failure rate on a budget line would likely result in non profitability so the failure rates we are talking about are very small I suspect.
