yes you can have it.... it will work... but the i945 and i965 chipsets limit RAM speeds to 667Mhz,,,, so if your CPU has a FSB of 667 the RAM will also run at 667Mhz...

BUT AS PP & MINER STATE BELOW... DUE TO THE CPU FSB YOUR CURRENT CONFIGURATION WILL DOWN CLOCK THE RAM TO 533Mhz

thanks to PP & MINER for noticing the CPU's FSB... i just assumed anyone looking @ 800Mhz RAM would have a 667 or 800Mhz FSB CPU... my mistake!!

you might as well get the 800mhz ram. If it downclocks, its latency should improve....

Does 2370 run the RAM at 667Mhz or 533Mhz?

Since it has 533Mhz FSB it should run it at DDR2 533.

That is what I thought, to OP your RAM will downclock to 533Mhz. Sorry.

good call PP... i neglected to check the CPU's specs... so i edited my previous post to clarify the facts as i now understand them to be...

    to the OP

the only benifit you will gain from 800Mhz RAM will be reduced latency times for memory reads & writes...
and the possibility of using the 800Mhz RAM in a different system that may support memory speeds higher than your current 533Mhz limit.

    later,

    bigO

Sounds kinda stupid....but you can overclock the FSB, to OC the CPU and RAM.. :D

I know that laptops are OVERheatet.
But If i take out the power cable My cpu clocks down to 798Mhz
I think it is just the Multipier goes from 13 to 6. ( cpu said so)
So Can i just higher the FSB and lower the multipier to got a good ram speed without overheating the cpu?

My Cpu is at 65c in the bed on full load!
and 60c at det desktop at full load!

You can not change the multiplier on that CPU. The trick you are looking for is undervolting. This will lower heat but your CPU will run faster if you increase FSB.

can i overclock the cpu so much as i can if the cpu does not go higher than 65c in full load?

What app for overclock the FSB?

There are threads on OC'ing I use ClockGen but I have AMD. You do want to watch heat but I believe you can have other issues also. One guy on this site did some serious OC'ing on a Penryn like yours I can't remember his name at this time. Do some searches and you should find what you need to know.

You need to know the PLL no. of your motherboard....only then you can overclock the FSB....check out this link

just try out all the plls in clockgen. Once you get one that matches your ie. fsb, then u know what it is.

Halt..!! Then forget about OCing, because you won't be able to OC without knowing the correct PLL....!! Clockgen has very few ICSs as compared to CPUcool....and it ll take you ages to try out each PLL, crash and dump windows, restart and then again try the next PLL..!! So best, open the laptop and see which PLL you have got or search high and low for anyone out there on google who has the same motherboard as yours..!!
Some PLLs do provide partial OCing (will OC your FSB by a small amount and not to its full potential), and you would suppose it is the correct PLL - it can actualy damage the System Management Bus, damaging your mobo and voiding your warranty..!! OCing is not child's play, you have to take precautions at each step, moving further on the FSB slowly....
