Hi. I have a Sony VAIO CR series laptop. It came with an ATI Mobility Radeon X2300. I am planning to' change the video card to' an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570. Can i use this video card on my laptop which native res is 1280x800? Can i upgrade my laptop? Thanks!

I think your video card is soldered into the your motherboard. So, no you can't upgrade.

I guess nobody reads the stickies any more.
You can bet that 98% of the time the video card is NOT upgradeable, as it's not only most likely proprietary, but also soldered onto the motherboard. There are some that use MXM cards, that could be interchangeable.
Unfortunately notebooks just aren't as upgradeable as desktops. It's the reality of having to pack so much into such a small space, plus there are virtually no industry wide standards when it comes to the parts used (save for the RAM and HDD). -
sony solder's GPU to motherboard so u can't upgrade... new laptop buying time
Can i upgrade my laptops video card?
