    It depends on on your motherboard rather than your CPU, but I don't think I've ever seen an i5 board that still uses DDR2, so yes, that should work, and G.Skill is good. I've been using their Ripjaws memory in my desktop computer for a long time with no issues.

    Yes, the memory will work and the memory is the same as pretty much every other DDR3 out there with lifetime warranty. Two things to note though, all the dual core Core i series only take up to 1066MHz so your memory will downclock. Secondly, while 8GB is fairly cheap now, unless you have specific need for it, you probably won't notice any benefit from upgrading past 4GB.

    Nehalem processors have an on-die memory controller that only supports DDR3. DDR2 with a nehalem processor is simply not possible.
