As in if l were to buy a Acer laptop with a Celeron M processor, can l put a Pentium M in it?
It has a Intel 910GML chipset that uses DDR2 400 memory.

From what I gather from Intels tech doc's...

The 910GML seems like it does not support the Pentium M. -
I think I can remember a few notebooks came out with that chipset and the Pentium M's. but it was all done from day one, so it's not as easy as just chucking a pentium in.
A few people here know alot more on the subject, and the actual ones that had that setup, so with a bit of luck they will see this, and have the info your after -
It depends on your Laptop. 910GML will support a Dothan(90nm,400fsb) Pentium M; Banias(130nm,400fsb) is not supported. If you have a freakish b120/b130/1300 a Dothan Sonoma(90nm,533fsb) will also work at correct GHz but only 400FSB.
I see the only point in upgrading to a Pentium M being better battery life. -
Oh yeah, the Celeron M's with the 1M L2 Cache is a Dothan...
Can l replace a Celeron M with a Pentium M?
