Hey,
I have a Thinkpad T61p which I absolutely love. I want to get a workstation setup for it at home however as I write a lot of code and I would like to have a full size monitor & keyboard when I am at my desk.
I am looking at purchasing a 22" LCD to plug my laptop into at my desk. However, I also game on my laptop occasionally and I want to make sure that my lappy can power a monitor that big and still deliver decent frame rates.
I have a core 2 duo 2.2 GHz with 3GB of memory, so the specs are fine. My lappy has a NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M for the GPU, which runs games just fine (Lord of the Rings Online.) But can it handle powering an external monitor?
Thanks for the advice.

Size has absolutely no relevance to the performance of a graphics card. Only resolution of the screen matters.

Yes you will do fine. Does the T61p have DVI out? My T61 doesn't but I got the Advanced Dock, which has DVI. I will never go back to analog video.

Cool, thanks for the info, thats what I was hoping.
No, just analog out I believe.
Here is the monitor I am looking at possibly:
LG - 22" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor

Can my laptop adequately power an external LCD for gaming?
